Recently, the research institutions EVTank, Ivi Economic Research Institute, and the China Battery Industry Research Institute jointly released the "White Paper on the Development of China's Solid-State Batteries (2026)".
The white paper states that in 2025, the hybrid solid-liquid battery would first cross the industrialization turning point from "sample to product", with the mass delivery of models such as SAIC MG4 and NIO 150kWh packages, and the global output of solid-state batteries reaching 8GWh, with a year-on-year growth of 51.9%.
Entering the first half of 2026, the industry has entered a critical period of "pre-production" preparation, with many enterprises indicating that the hybrid solid-liquid battery will be mass-produced and installed in vehicles in the second half of 2026. The first national standard for automotive solid-state batteries, GB/T 43568, was officially implemented in July 2026, using quantitative indicators (liquid electrolyte content > 20% as liquid, 5%–20% as hybrid solid-liquid, < 5% and with a weight loss rate ≤ 0.5% after 120℃ vacuum baking for 6 hours as fully solid-state) to clearly define the technical boundaries. Currently, all deliveries are of hybrid solid-liquid batteries, and they are simultaneously expanding in the multiple scenarios of power batteries, energy storage, and low-altitude economy. The global leading position of China's solid-state battery industry continues to be consolidated.

EVTank predicts that by 2030, the global output of solid-state batteries will reach 607.2GWh, with a compound annual growth rate of over 130%, and the proportion of fully solid-state will be close to 20%.
From the perspective of enterprise output, in 2025, Wei Lan New Energy and Qing Tao Energy continued to lead, with a combined market share of nearly half. Following them are Hui Neng Technology, Xing Wangda, Ning De Time, Gan Feng Li Dian, and Tai Lan New Energy, among which Wei Lan New Energy, Qing Tao Energy, Ning De Time, Hui Neng Technology, and Tai Lan New Energy mainly focus on power batteries, while Xing Wangda mainly focuses on consumer batteries.
EVTank believes that although the current emerging players in solid-state batteries have a leading market share, traditional liquid battery leading enterprises are also continuously accumulating solid-state battery technology reserves and conducting research and development follow-ups. In the future, with their complete upstream and downstream supply chain system and scale effect, they still have the opportunity to occupy a higher market position.

In terms of cost, as the production capacity of hybrid solid-liquid batteries climbs steadily and the yield gradually increases, coupled with the maturity of technology and the increase in market demand, the scale effect will gradually become apparent, and the cost reduction path will be more clear. The BOM cost will gradually approach that of liquid batteries.
For fully solid-state batteries, according to the latest production plans of each enterprise, the pilot lines of fully solid-state batteries are intensively put into production, and the key materials continue to reduce costs (sulfides decrease by more than 35%). It is expected that small-scale production will be achieved in 2027, and the next two years will be the key time for breakthroughs in technical bottlenecks. Each company is striving to seize the strategic high ground of the next-generation technology.
At the same time, the industry has formed a clear rhythm: 2026 is the competition for production lines and verification, 2027 is the competition for vehicles and demonstrations, and before 2030, it will be the competition for large-scale commercialization.
In the "White Paper on the Development of China's Solid-State Batteries (2026)" released by EVTank, detailed analyses and predictions were made on the key materials, production processes, cost reduction paths, the layout and technology progress of solid-state battery enterprises, and future market trends.
